Free essential oils to kill mold, mildew available for flooded West Newton areas
Residents of West Newton and the surrounding area who are dealing with the aftermath of September flooding can get free essential oils that will kill mold and mildew.
Donna Spisak of Steel City Oilers said doTERRA, a Utah-based company that sells essential oils, donated about 200 bottles that will be distributed from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the West Newton Lions Club, 507 Pittsburgh St.
Small communities along the Youghiogheny River flooded Sept. 10 after three days of near-constant rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon. Members of Steel City Oilers will be on hand to show recipients how to use essential oils to remove mold and mildew, Spisak said.
Information will be available at the Lions Club about low-interest loans available to homeowners, businesses and renters through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
