White powder causes scare at Havasu Police Department
The Lake Havasu Police Department was briefly quarantined Tuesday after an employee found a white powder substance.
Fire Department officials say a police employee found white powder in an envelope in the records area of the department’s headquarters on North McCulloch Boulevard. The powder is believed to be expired antibiotic prescription drugs dropped off at the police department for Saturday’s drug take-back event, according to the fire department.
River Medical ambulances were called to the scene and the area was cordoned off as firefighters evaluated the employee.
Firefighters determined there was no threat to the public around noon.
