Senator Landrieu and husband adopt second child
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Freshman Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., and her husband, Frank Snellings, have adopted a daughter, Mary Shannon Snellings.
The girl, to be known as Shannon, was born in early July and the adoption, over the weekend, was handled through a private attorney in the New Orleans area, the senator said in a statement Tuesday.
Shannon is the couple’s second child. Snellings, an attorney and businessman, and Landrieu are also the parents of a 5-year-old adopted son, Connor.
``Connor has brought us such joy that it seemed only natural we add to our family,″ Landrieu said. ``Shannon is a beautiful, healthy baby. Connor is thrilled to be a big brother.″
