Lowell “Doug” Pease, 60, of Armstrong, “saddled up Magic and went riding with the dogs,” his family said, at 1:20 a.m. Friday (Aug. 24, 2018). He passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He was born Aug. 10, 1958, in Kankakee, the son of Lowell and Nancy (Minnich) Pease. He married Bridget Henry in Hope. They were together for 35 years. She survives.
Also surviving are his three children, Tena (Mark), of Champaign, Wayne (Kari), of Champaign, and Bo (Trish), of Paxton; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Barb (Don), Bonnie and Donna (Wayne); one stepsister, Michelle (Daniel); stepmom, Cindy Pease; five nephews; and two nieces.
Before going to Champaign, Lowell worked various jobs, such as a mover, cement framer and finisher, metalworker, construction laborer and upholsterer. When he arrived in Champaign, he worked for Burke’s Upholstery for 18 years, then worked for Nu Vision until they closed, and lastly worked at Champaign Carpet Cleaners for 23 years until he became sick.
Lowell was a member of the Kankakee Saddle Club for many years. He loved fishing, golfing, camping, bowling and dancing. Lowell had many loves, but most of all, he loved riding his horse, Magic.
He was always there for everyone and everybody. He will be missed dearly by his family.
A celebration of life gathering will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the LBP Ranch.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
