Suspect charged in connection to 2018 altercation outside Windsor General Store
A Windsor man was charged Monday in connection with a 2018 incident involving a 48-year-old man outside a general store on Charleston Highway.
Thomas Ray Paschal, 21, of the 700 block of Oak Ridge Club Road, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records.
On Oct. 12, 2018, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Windsor General Store in reference to an altercation.
Upon arrival, police met with the victim who said Paschal and an unknown man pulled up in a vehicle while he was standing outside the store, the report states. Paschal was driving the car, while the second suspect got out of the vehicle and got into a physical altercation with the victim.
The victim told deputies Paschal also struck the vehicle he was sitting on. He said he feared Paschal was going to run him over with his vehicle.
Investigators obtained a copy of the store’s surveillance footage.
Following an investigation, Paschal was arrested Monday and taken to the Aiken County detention center, where he was released the same day on a $5,000 bond, records show.
The second suspect has not yet been identified.
