BELMONT, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire attorney general’s office has identified the officers involved in the fatal shooting of a man in Belmont.

Forty-five-year-old Michael Sheehan II was shot multiple times by police at 11:40 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said Friday that Sgt. Evan Boulanger, Officer Christopher Kloetz and Officer Patrick Riley discharged their weapons during the shooting.

Both Boulanger and Kloetz have worked 12 years as police officers, while Riley has served seven years.

The attorney general’s office described the incident that unfolded late Saturday on the South Road as a homicide. It said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

The attorney general’s office says a report looking into whether the use of force was justified will be released once the investigation is complete.
