Talk on German POWs in Lebanon

May 16, 2019

LEBANON -- The Lebanon Historical Society invites the community to attend an illustrated talk on German prisoners of war in Wisconsin Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Lebanon Fire Department meeting room, located on the north side of the Fire Station-Town Office complex at N1738 County Highway R, Lebanon.

During World War II, German prisoners were held in barracks throughout Wisconsin and employed locally, including Lebanon. The number of German speakers in this area made it an ideal location for housing and employing German POWs.

Daniel Wittenberger will present on the topic. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation and before the society’s regular business meeting.
