$1 zombie drinks at Applebee’s? All right all right

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Applebee’s is back with another $1 cocktail, this one with a Halloween theme.

Dubbed the Dollar Zombie, the electric-blue tinted drink is made of rum and pineapple, passion fruit, cherry and lime and topped with a gummy brain.

“Halloween is a favorite holiday around here, and we’re excited to offer guests the opportunity to celebrate all month long with our new Dollar Zombie,” Applebee’s VP of beverage innovation says in a release. “We invite people to get into the spirit early by trying our Neighborhood Drink with an infectious taste. The only thing to fear this Halloween is missing out on this awesome drink.”

In addition to the Dollar Zombie, Northeast Ohio Applebee’s restaurants are serving two other Halloween-themed drinks. Dracula’s Juice is made with Bacardi Superior, blackberry and cranberry juice and topped with frozen lemonade. The Boo Lagoon, meanwhile, is a combination of Bacardi Superior, Blue Curacao, lime and orange juice. Prices for these drinks vary by location.

There doesn’t appear to be an official limit on the number Dollar Zombies you can order, though The Plain Dealer’s John Petkovic discovered during the $1 Long Island Iced Tea promotion last December bartenders would serve only him three glasses per hour. Customers, of course, must be 21-years-old or over to drink.

The scary spirits are available now through the end of October.

There are Applebee’s restaurants in Akron, Avon, Brooklyn, Brunswick, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Falls, Elyria, Fairview Park, Garfield Heights, Independence, Kent, Lorain, Lyndhurst, Macedonia, Medina, Mentor, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Sandusky, Stow, Streetsboro, Strongsville, University Heights and Willoughby.
