Aw! 6-year-old with muscular dystrophy proposes to art teacher at Duke Children’s
Aw! A 6-year-old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy recently popped the question to his art teacher at Duke Children’s Hospital.
Creed, who is from the Fayetteville area, has been treated at Duke for most of his life. During his time at Duke, he gets to work with Alison, who teachers art to patients along with other education activities for patients and their families.
On Dec. 12, they were discussing Christmas and the topic of diamonds came up, so they made a ring out of a glass marble and gold wire. Creed ended up using it to propose to Alison.
His mom, who was sitting at the table, said if he was going to propose, he needed to do it right and get on one knee.
Creed said part of the reason he proposed was because he and Alison both have a mutual love of mac and cheese.
However, this week, Creed saw Alison again and said he wanted to break up after some of the other nurses were a bit jealous.
Creed told Alison she could keep the ring, and they definitely could still go get some mac and cheese together.
