Grand jury indicts Fort Mohave man in assault on deputy
KINGMAN — A Fort Mohave man was indicted Thursday for allegedly assaulting a sheriff’s deputy.
A Mohave County grand jury indicted Tyler Matthew Gaul, 28, on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gaul is expected to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday at the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond. His case will be heard before Superior Court Commissioner Billy Sipe Jr.
Gaul was arrested last Monday after Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies were patrolling a business in the 4700 block of Highway 95. Trying to flee from deputies, Gaul assaulted a deputy who was trying to restrain him, according to the sheriff’s office.
The deputy was treated at a local hospital while Gaul was treated by paramedics at the scene. A searched of Gaul’s backpack revealed 1.3 grams of methamphetamine, 1 gram of marijuana, a glass pipe and other drug paraphernalia, MCSO reported.
