Elderly North Carolina woman dies in weekend house fire
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Officials in North Carolina say an elderly woman was killed in a weekend fire.
Greenville police told news outlets 83-year-old Mary Mills died in Saturday night’s fire.
Emergency personnel were initially dispatched to the home for a medical call, but when they arrived, they saw smoke coming out of the home.
Police say they don’t suspect foul play in the woman’s death, but they are awaiting word from the medical examiner to determine how Mills died.
