Public forum scheduled on New Milford river walk trail
New Milford officials are looking for public feedback on the proposed river trail as the design work progresses.
A presentation about the preliminary engineering report for the trail will kick off the public forum at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the John Pettibone Community Center cafeteria. A question and answer session will follow.
Members of the bike and trails committee will be there.
A copy of the engineering report is available on the town website under project updates.
The plan is to ultimately extend the trail from Sega Meadows Park to the Brookfield town line. A piece along the River by Young’s Field is already completed.
New Milford recently received a $180,500 grant from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to plan and design a 2.5 mile extension for the river walk.
