Suspects Charged in Deadly Ala. Shootings
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) _ A 23-year-old man faces capital murder charges in a shooting at a McDonald’s drive-through that killed two men and wounded a third, police said Friday.
James David Wilson of Mobile surrendered to police late Thursday. Police also arrested Extaunia Ely, 26, who they said was in the shooter’s getaway car. Ely, of Mobile, is charged with hindering prosecution.
Demarcus Jones, 22, and Michael Tunstall, 19, were shot Wednesday as their vehicle rolled up to a restaurant window. Jonathan Taylor, 20, was wounded in the abdomen and is expected to recover.
Police said shots were also fired from inside the victims’ vehicle.
Police had not yet determined a motive.
Tunstall had been free on bail after being arrested in July in a Mobile hotel robbery, prosecutors said.
Jones’ sister, Shameeka Ortiz, said she didn’t know of any enemies of her brother.
