Norfolk Public Schools sees student enrollment increase
NORFOLK - Norfolk Public Schools has an official list of the enrollment numbers for the current school year.
The numbers were highlighted Monday night by Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson at the Board of Education meeting.
Dr. Thompson said increases included the preschool by three students, elementary by 31 students, middle school by 17 students and junior high by 26 students.
She said it’s good to see the numbers increase.
“K-12 overall we had an increase of 74 and pre K-12 we had an increase of 77 so our total pre K-12 enrollment was 4,446 which is the largest we’ve ever had. That was nearly a 2% increase this last year.”
Dr. Thomson said the only area that didn’t have an increase was the senior high, they stayed even at 1,324 students.
