Veterans Day ceremony at LASD
About 30 local veterans received a standing ovation Monday at a ceremony hosted by Ludington High School and O.J. DeJonge Middle School students. Following the nearly 30-minute tribute that honored the veterans, a breakfast of eggs, sausage and pancakes was served in the high school library, which was hosted by the O.J. DeJonge Leadership Initiative Students, who decorated the library for the event.
“This is the best welcome that I ever got since we have been back,” said Vietnam veteran Gary Cameron. “We never had any celebration when we came home. This is really something to get out and see the guys and catch up with them.”
