Too many visitors to state park on July 4

July 6, 2019

NOTTINGHAM, N.H. (AP) — The Fourth of July holiday is one of the busiest times for visitors to New Hampshire, and one park was so packed that people were turned away.

Pawtuckaway State Park in Nottingham was filled to capacity on Thursday.

WMUR-TV reports only 1,000 adults are allowed on the beach at the park, and that number was reached just after 8 a.m. on July 4.

The beach is a major draw on hot days.
