Scotland To Play U.S. on May 30

March 12, 1998

CHICAGO (AP) _ The United States’ final exhibition game before the World Cup will be on May 30 at RFK Stadium against Scotland, the U.S. Soccer Federation said Wednesday.

The game originally had been set for Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., but the stadium was rented for a concert before the USSF was able to negotiate a deal. The USSF then considered Washington and Foxboro, Mass.

The Americans will have four other games before leaving for the tournament in France: Saturday against Paraguay at San Diego; April 22 against Austria; and West Coast home games May 16 and 24 against opponents to be determined.

The United States starts the World Cup against Germany on June 15 in Paris.
