Indian Factory Explosion Kills 10 People
HYDERABAD, India (AP) _ An explosion Tuesday at a state-run factory that makes detonators in southern India killed at least 10 workers, a police commissioner said.
The blast occurred at Indian Detonators Ltd., a company owned by the Defense Ministry in Kukatpally, a suburb of Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh.
At least 10 workers were killed when the building collapsed on them, said regional police commissioner Mahinder Reddy. He added that the explosion could have been caused by a short circuit.
Seven bodies were recovered from the debris.
