Australia wins toss, bats in 5th test vs. England
LONDON (AP) — Australia has won the toss and will bat against England in the fifth and final test at The Oval as it bids to avoid losing 4-0 in the series.
England made two changes on Wednesday, giving test debuts to allrounder Chris Woakes and spinner Simon Kerrigan. They come in for out-of-form batsman Jonny Bairstow and injured allrounder Tim Bresnan.
Australia also mades two changes. Debutant allrounder James Faulkner replaces top-order batsman Usman Khawaja and left-arm swing bowler Mitchell Starc is in for seamer Jackson Bird.
England: Alastair Cook (captain), Joe Root, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Chris Woakes, Matt Prior, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Simon Kerrigan, James Anderson.
