UND President Kennedy a semifinalist for Central Florida job

February 15, 2018

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — University of North Dakota President Mark Kennedy is one of eight semifinalists for president at the University of Central Florida.

Kennedy, a former Minnesota congressman, is looking at leaving the university less than two years after taking the job. He was named UND’s 12th president in 2016.

Central Florida officials say a 15-member search committee will interview the candidates on Feb. 22-23. The committee plans to bring three to five finalists back to the campus.

Kennedy says he and his wife are not anxious to leave North Dakota and he remains focused on his duties at the Grand Forks school.

Current Central Florida President John Hitt is retiring in June.
