ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police are investigating after officers responding to a domestic violence situation found a man shot dead.

Police spokesman Simon Drobik says law enforcement was called to an apartment complex on Eagle Ranch near Irving on Monday morning for a domestic violence call.

Investigators say some sort of altercation and shooting occurred at an apartment occupied by the man and his girlfriend.

Another man was also at the scene.

Drobik says it appears the girlfriend had called him for help. Both are being questioned.

The incident marks the third homicide investigation in the city in four days.
