The Journal Gazette Foundation Board recently approved grants totaling 110,000 was approved in grants to be paid out in 2019. Grants awarded this year total $490,000.

• Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne, $20,000, capital grant payment two of five for new clubhouse

• United Way of Allen County, $20,000, fourth-quarter payment of 2018 pledge

• McMillen Health, $11,750, capital grant to update transparent anatomical mannequin

• Indiana University Foundation, $10,000, two journalism scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year

• Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, $10,000, operating grant to assist fundraising efforts to fight breast cancer

• Ball State University Foundation, $5,000, operating grant to fund a scholarship for a journalism student from the Fort Wayne area enrolled at Ball State

• Euell A. Wilson Center, $5,000, operating grant for comprehensive after-school/summer programming

• Fort Wayne Philharmonic, $5,000, operating grant to support the Young People’s Concerts

• Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, $3,750, fourth-quarter payment of 2018 pledge

• Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana Foundation, $3,500, operating grant to support civic engagement programs

• Audiences Unlimited, $3,000, operating grant for transportation expenses to community cultural events for the elderly and disabled

• Big Brothers Big Sisters, $3,000, operating grant to help children reach their potential through one-on-one relationships

• Fort Wayne Museum of Art, $3,000, capital support for the Learning Center Revitalization project

• Early Childhood Alliance, $2,500, operating grant to support the preparation of children for success in school and beyond

• The League, $2,500, operating grant for the Information & Referral Program

• PARC Inc., $1,500, capital grant to buy a mobile computer tablet for Black Pine Animal Sanctuary

• Weather The Fort, $1,500, operating grant to support the Fort Wayne winter festival

• HSPA Foundation, $1,000, operating grant to support educational activities of the Hoosier State Press Association’s Foundation

• Inner City Hope Corp., $1,000, operating grant to support Miss Virginia’s Food Pantry
