Supermarket worker back after patriotic dress suspension
BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia woman who was suspended from her job at an Acme supermarket after wearing a patriotic dress is returning to work.
The Bucks County Courier Times reports (http://bit.ly/28Nntll ) Donna Patrick will be back at work after a meeting between Acme representatives and union officials over the dress code violation.
The 51-year-old Upper Southampton woman was suspended from her job at a Bensalem Acme after she wore a sleeveless patriotic dress to work on Memorial Day.
Acme Markets spokeswoman Danielle D’Elia says the company supports workers wearing patriotic clothing but the attire included denim, no sleeves and a short dress, which she says isn’t appropriate.
She says Patrick will be returning to work in the coming days.
Union officials say the issue has been resolved but declined further comment.
