Sienna Plantation homeowners protest proposed bridge

December 14, 2018

A group of Sienna Plantation homeowners recently set up an online petition to protest a proposed bridge to allow a back entrance from a new section expected to feature 500 new homes.

Neighborhood of Logan Pass residents fear the bridge will bring substantial traffic to their quiet neighborhood where children play in the streets. The residents hope the petition will convince officials from Johnson Development to reconsider plans for the proposed bridge.

“The safety of our children is our number one priority. San Marco Drive is poised to become a major thoroughfare for a new section of housing and recreation that is being developed in Sawmill Lake of Sienna Plantation. San Marco Drive is a narrow residential street in a closed neighborhood; it was never designed to be an access road for hundreds of new houses. We have a school bus stop here for several neighborhoods, including Fox Bend and The Vines. There has already been one pedestrian fatality in Sienna Plantation,” petition organizers wrote.

The petition has gained more than 500 signatures.

Officials from Johnson Development did not immediately return calls for comment.

Sienna Plantation is a master planned community in Fort Bend County located near Missouri City.
