Colorado police plan searches in woman’s 2013 disappearance
PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — State officials say they will be searching areas in southern Colorado as they continue investigating the 2013 disappearance of a pregnant woman.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Pueblo Police Department announced their plans on Tuesday in a statement but wouldn’t provide further detail. The statement says searchers will begin work on Wednesday and will focus on areas close to where 21-year-old Kelsie Schelling was last seen, prompted by new information in the years-old case.
Police have said Schelling was driving from her home in Denver to meet her boyfriend in Pueblo when she went missing.
Pueblo Police Chief Troy Davenport says the case is a priority for his department. Pueblo police asked state authorities for help on the case last year.
