December 14, 2018

The following preliminary hearing is scheduled before District Judge Sandra L. Stevanus in New Centerville:

Unsworn falsification

Patricia D. Stout, 54, Wilbur Road, Stoystown, was charged Wednesday with unsworn falsification to authorities. State police said Stout won a rifle at the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department gun bash and answered no when asked, “Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective or have you ever been committed to a mental institution?” on a form at Hoover’s Outfitting and Supply on Sept. 24. Stout told police that she was confused by the question and that she had asked for help answering the question and did not receive any. A background check revealed she had been committed to a mental institution years earlier. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 31.

The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Ken Johnson in Somerset:

Driving under the influence

• Kevin Nathaniel Galloway, 23, Pemberton Street, Pittsburgh, was charged Dec. 12 with driving under the influence and drug paraphernalia possession on Nov. 11. State police were monitoring traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when a vehicle was observed traveling 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. Galloway exited his vehicle, and police found a metal grinder with suspected marijuana and a glass smoking pipe. A blood test revealed the presence of a controlled substance in his system. A hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 29.

• Nikolas Robert Bielawski, 29, Covert Road, Philadelphia, was charged Dec. 13 with driving under the influence on Dec. 2. State police responded to a one-vehicle crash near the 110 mile marker on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Bielawski said he had smoked marijuana before driving, according to court documents. He refused to submit to blood testing. A hearing is scheduled for 11:10 a.m. Jan. 22.
