DeKalb home solar energy system to be featured during Illinois Solar Tour
DeKALB – Illinois residents will be able to get an up-close look at solar energy this weekend during a tour led by a nonprofit solar energy organization.
More than 100 solar homes and businesses across the state will open their doors to the public during the Illinois Solar Tour, hosted by the Illinois Solar Energy Association, from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m. Saturday. One of those sites will include the personal solar panel setup at the home of DeKalb resident William Klein, 7640 W. Keslinger Road, which features the first ground-mounted system built in DeKalb County, according to a news release.
The tour comes after recent state law implementation regulating solar energy. More than 25 applications for community solar gardens are at different points in the DeKalb County approval process.
The tour is free and open to the public. For information on the tour, visit illinoisolartour.org.
