Kankakee Valley Garden Club

The Kankakee Valley Garden Club meeting this month is a field trip at 6 p.m. Thursday to Willow Haven Wetlands.

The Laureate Beta Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on Sept. 19 at the Bourbonnais Public Library, hosted by Jayne Ducat.

Service chairman Bev Call announced the chapter will again be helping Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan Purse. Sisters were asked to bring their gifts for shoeboxes to the November meeting.

Sorority sisters will meet on Wednesday to celebrate Carole Hassett’s birthday.

Roberta Renville announced the Kankakee Quiltmakers’ 2018 Silver Quilt Show will be held Oct. 6-7 at Bishop McNamara Catholic High School at 500 W. Brookmont Blvd. in Kankakee.

The next meeting will be hosted by Jean Tanner on Oct. 17 at the Bourbonnais Public Library. Anyone interested in becoming a Beta Sigma Phi member or who would like more information on the social-service organization, visit betasigmphi.org.
