Grafton husband indicted in slaying of his wife
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester (WUS’-tur) jury has indicted a Grafton man whose wife was found dead in a bedroom of their home.
Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/294pwSD ) reports that the grand jury handed up an indictment last week charging 42-year-old Michael Sugarman with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, 36-year-old Kelly Sugarman.
Kelly Sugarman was found dead on April 13 after the couple’s 5-year-old daughter was seen wandering around the neighborhood in her pajamas and saying her mom was sick. Authorities say the woman had bruising and trauma to her throat.
Michael Sugarman was also found in the home with a knife in his neck.
Sugarman’s lawyer says her client has been hospitalized for mental illness in the past and has been prescribed medications. Sugarman remains at Bridgewater State Hospital.
