Gun safety group to hold meeting in Stamford
Moms Demand Action will host an event to honor survivors of gun violence on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m.
The event is described as the “Stamford/Greenwich” 2019 kickoff for the group, which campaigns for stronger gun laws.
The meeting will be held at Union Memorial Church, 58 Church St., in Stamford.
The description for the event says, “With a gun death rate approximately 10 times greater than peer nations, America’s level of gun violence is tragically unique. The United States will have experienced more gun deaths by approximately Feb. 1 than other peer nations experience in an entire calendar year.”
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement. Since its inception after the tragedy at Sandy Hook School, Moms Demand Action has established a chapter in every state of the country.
