PORTLAND, Ore. An Oregon Democratic congressman says 2018 was the year that the marijuana movement “crested.” U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, who’s been working for decades to overturn the federal ban on pot says, “It’s clear that this is all coming to a head.” In 2018, California became the largest legal U.S. marketplace, U.S. drug regulators approved the first marijuana-based pharmaceutical to treat kids with a form of epilepsy and billions of investment dollars poured into cannabis companies.
