Police seek suspects in liquor store theft

HAMDEN — Police are seeking two people who allegedly stole from an area liquor store and injured an employee.

According to police, about 6:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 1890 Liquor Store, 1890 Dixwell Ave.on the report of a “shoplifting, involving injuries.”

The investigation reportedly revealed that two people entered the store and stole three bottles of liquor, valued at a total of $105.97. Police said one of the individuals, described as a black female, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, pushed the 55-year-old female employee to the ground. She reportedly suffered a shoulder injury.

Police said the suspects subsequently fled westbound on Benham Street in a silver Volkswagen “hatchback.”
