Lula Davis Belle, 61, of Kankakee, passed away Sept. 9, 2018, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Lax Mortuary in Kankakee. An additional time for visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Gethsemane Gardens Missionary Baptist Church, Kankakee. The Rev. Ervin Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory, Kankakee.
Lula Davis Belle was born July 17, 1957, in Deatsville, Ala., the daughter of Will and Eva Wilks Davis. She graduated from Hopeville High School in Elmore, Ala.
She resided in the Kankakee area for 38 years and was employed by Riverside Medical Center as a laundry aide.
Lula was united in holy matrimony to Jimmie Belle in February of 2004.
She is remembered for being caring and friendly. Lula enjoyed cooking, watching scary movies and playing cards.
Lula leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, of Kankakee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Amanda Davis and Jimerney and Shannon Belle, all of Kankakee; one daughter, Shaletha Belle, of Kankakee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Geneva Davis, of Detroit, Mich., and Sylvester and Patricia Davis, of Kankakee; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Susie and Daniel Ward, of Vernon, N.Y., Edna and Hardie Bell Jr. and Theresa Davis, all of Kankakee, Catherine and David Goodwine, of Columbia, S.C., and Sarah Wilks, of Wichita Falls, Texas; in-laws, Denolia, John, Polly, Lucille, William, Carl and Marcus; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Annie Knight; and three brothers, Johnny Davis, Willie F. Davis and Willie L. Davis.
