Tewksbury, Chelmsford Skate to Impressive Victories

Michael Arsenault had a goal and assist as Tewksbury skated to a 3-1 victory over Thornton Academy of Sacco, Maine, at the Holiday Classic at the University of Southern Maine.

Elsewhere, Chelmsford blanked Newton North, 3-0, in a semifinal game at the Haverhill Christmas Tournament.

Jason Cooke and Campbell Pierce netted one goal each for the Redmen (4-1).

Kyle Morris and Aaron Scott tallied 1 assist each.

Patrick Letourneau (7 saves) posted the win in goal.

Tewksbury will play Scarborough, Maine Friday at 1 p.m. at the University of Southern Maine.

Chelmsford 3

Newton North 0

Peter Mitchell, Bobby Turner (shorthanded) and Ben Pitts scored one goal each while helping the Lions improve their record to 3-0-1.

Jared Huggins help spark the offense with 2 assists.

Sean Stackpole added 1 assist.

Senior captain Drew Blodgett made 25 saves in goal while posting the shutout.

Chelmsford will play Wilmington in the championship game Saturday at 7 p.m.

Lowell 4

Hopedale/Millis 0

Senior Andrew Carrabis made 16 saves while notching the shutout in goal as Lowell blanked Hopedale/Millis in the championship game of the St. Joseph Prep Christmas Classic.

Junior Brendan DeMarco paced the Red Raiders’ offense with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Owen Goulette, Keegan Cote and Shawn Spring each tallied a goal and assist apiece.

Ben Asselin, Cam Trull and Nick Mandeville added 1 assist each.

On Wednesday, Goulette scored 3 goals as Lowell beat St. Joseph Prep, 8-2, in a semifinal game.

Spring netted 2 goals for the Red Raiders, while Thomas Hassett, Matt Asselin and Kevin Conley potted the other Lowell goals. Conley’s goal was the first of his varsity career.

Andrew Kotsifas, Trull, DeMarco and Hassett added 2 assists each.

Patrick Cote made 19 saves in goal.

Salem, N.H. 7

Dracut/Tyngsboro 2

Four of Salem’s goal were scored on the power-play in this non-league game that was played on Wednesday.

Pat Crowley figured in both Dracut/Tyngsboro goals with a goal and assist.

Andrew Dickson scored the other Dracut/Tyngsboro goal, while Mikey Collett notched an assist.

Preston Wilson and Andrew Kazanjian, who made his varsity debut, played goal for Dracut/Tyngsboro.

Derek Amarillo and Avery Abbott scored Bishop Guertin’s goals in this non-league loss.

Billerica 5

Ryan Brouillette scored 2 goals and had 1 assist while leading the way on offense for Billerica (3-1-1).

Anthony Viscione, Matt Covino and Garrett Climo scored 1 goal each for the Indians.

Anthony Lamarca chipped in with 2 assists.

Junior Connor Feeney had a strong game in net, finishing with 30 saves.

Ryan Barrett and Joe Hill each netted a hat trick as Wilmington outlasted Coyle-Cassidy in a semifinal game of the Haverhill Christmas Tournament.

Chris Spinazola scored the other Wildcat goal.

Chris Robarge, Matt Pendenza and Justin Crowley tallied 2 assists apiece.

Zach Kincaid, Jared Venezia, Conlin Duffy and Andrew Sullivan notched 1 assist each for Wilmington (3-2).

Anthony Cuozzo made 25 saves while registering the win in goal.
