Windborne Blowing in to Leominster

November 22, 2018

LEOMINSTER -- Take a break from holiday shopping for a special performance featuring the internationally acclaimed Windborne Folk Harmony Quartet on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m., at Leominster Public Library, 30 West St.

Windborne is touring in support of their new project, “Song on the Times: A Songbook and Album for Social Struggle.”

The concert is free and open to the public, and will set the mood for Leominster’s Winter Stroll in the downtown area the same day, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Windborne is Lynn Mahoney Rowan, Will Thomas Rowan, Lauren Breunig, and Jeremy Carter-Gordon. They have traveled extensively in the United States and throughout the world with Village Harmony, Northern Harmony and the Renewal Chorus, leading workshops and giving concerts.

Specializing in close harmony, the quartet has a vibrant energy and a strong connection, which is evident in their engaging performance. They educate as they perform, telling stories about the music and explaining the characteristics and stylistic elements of the traditions in which they sing.

This event is part of the library’s yearlong series, “Leominster Library University.” For more information, call 978-534-7522.
