Shop Today for United Way will be held Thursday in downtown Aiken

For some people, shopping is a chore they do only when they need something.

For others, it’s a fun activity.

On Thursday, Sept. 27, anyone who visits certain downtown businesses will have the opportunity to help a good cause by making a purchase.

Shop Today for United Way is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stores that will be donating a percentage of their sales during that time period to the United Way of Aiken County are 3 Monkeys Fine Gifts, the aiken creative company, Beyond Bijoux, Caroline’s Boutique, Cyndi’s Sweet Shoppe, Downtown Dog, Epona, folly, High Country Olive Oil, Lionel Smith Ltd., Nandina Home & Design, The Paisley Peacock, Pitter Patter Children’s Boutique, Plum Pudding and True Value Hardware.

Shop Today for United Way is part of the United Way of Aiken County’s 2018 fall fundraising campaign that officially kicked off in late August. The campaign’s goal is $2,690,956.

The United Way and its Community Business Division are partnering with downtown businesses for Shop Today for United Way.

The United Way provides financial support for more than 30 agencies and 45 critical need programs locally.
