ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) _ The Detroit Lions claimed linebacker Donte Curry off waivers from Washington on Wednesday and released defensive end Chris Glantzis.
Terms of Curry’s contract were not disclosed.
The 6-foot-1, 233-pound Curry spent most of the preseason with the Redskins before being released Wednesday. He played in eight games for Washington in 2001 after being signed from the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.
Detroit signed the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Glantzis as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 26.
The moves left Detroit with 66 players on its roster, which must be reduced to 53 players by 4 p.m. Sunday.
