South Point girls knock off Chesapeake on Senior Night

SOUTH POINT, Ohio — South Point defeated Chesapeake 5-1 on girls soccer Senior Night for the Pointers.

Grace Simpson, Kylee Riggs and Kate Mundy were honored as South Point’s seniors at Tuesday’s match, along with foreign exchange student Neele Bennje.

EmileeWhitt scored a pair of South Point goals. Kylee Ellison had one goal and one assist. Mundy made four saves in the net.

Chesapeake had a goal by Sheridyn Collins and nine saves by Maddie McKee.

FAIRLAND 2, ROCK HILL 0: Errin Hayden and Lexi Hall scored for the Dragons in a triumph over the Redwomen.

ROCK HILL 2, FAIRLAND 0: Victor Aguilera scored his 100th career goal in three seasons to help the Redmen beat the Dragons. Aguilera added a second goal just before the end of the first half to help Rock Hill (11-0-2, 7-0-2) clinch at least a share of the Ohio Valley Conference title.

SOUTH POINT 4, CHESAPEAKE 0: Pointers goalkeeper Jaylon Halfhill earned a shutout against the Panthers. John Overstreet scored two goals. Drew Smith and Clemons Magdeburg added one apiece.
