Lutheran Health president steps down

May 3, 2019

Leadership at Lutheran Health is changing again.

Mike Poore, northeast Indiana regional president for Lutheran Health Network’s parent company Community Health Systems, announced his resignation to employees today.

In March, barely two weeks after moving from her position as CEO at Lutheran Hospital to what was called an “equivalent position” at St. Joseph Hospital, Paula Autry took a position as project CEO with Community Health.

Poore said he is resigning for family reasons.

In a statement to Lutheran Health employees he said “I believe this is the right decision for me and for my family at this time in our lives and I hope you will understand.”

In coming weeks, Poore said he will transition his duties to Mark Medley, who is serving as chief executive of Lutheran’s eight-hospital network and had reported directly to Poore.
