Reported U-turn attempt send man to hospital
A 44-year-old Pine Island man was taken to the hospital shortly after 5 p.m. Friday after his car was struck by another vehicle while he was allegedly trying to make a U-turn.
Mark Alan Geier reportedly attempted the U-turn in a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica while driving east on Minnesota Highway 60 near the overpass at U.S. Highway 52, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
At the same time, Travis Ray Husbyn, 22, of Wanamingo, was behind him in a 1996 Ford Super Cab, also eastbound on Highway 60.
The truck reportedly struck Geier’s turning vehicle.
Geier was taken to Saint Marys Hospital with what were reported as non-life-threatening injuries, and Husbyn wasn’t injured, according to the report.
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office and Zumbrota Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance responded to the scene.
