Man dies in crash that closes portion of Loop 410
San Antonio police officers were investigating a deadly crash Tuesday night that closed down Loop 410 near Marbach on the West Side.
One man died after the driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche driving southbound on Loop 410 lost control after 6:30 p.m. and slammed into a concrete divider, police said. A passenger in the back seat, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown into the northbound lanes, where he was run over by multiple vehicles, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Both southbound and northbound lanes of Loop 410 were closed while police investigated the accident.
