Mexican newspaper director robbed, shot
CULIACAN, Mexico (AP) — The director of a newspaper in northwestern Mexico is recovering after assailants forced him to stop, stole his car and shot him in the legs.
Newspaper Director Adrian Lopez Ortiz was being treated at a hospital in the state of Sinaloa Thursday after the attack.
Lopez Ortiz is the director of the Noroeste newspaper, whose employees have allegedly been the subject of harassment by police.
The newspaper has complained about the mistreatment publicly.
Noroeste editor Francisco Cuamea said Lopez Ortiz was in stable condition.
The assailants also took computer equipment, and Lopez Ortiz’s wallet.
