STERLING – Helping women fight the triple threat of breast and ovarian cancer and heart disease is the goal of this year’s Delicious Designs fundraiser, a benefit for the CGH Health Foundation.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Oct. 18 at Deer Valley Country Club, 3298 Hoover Road. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening, and there will be a short program featuring survivors of those three diseases.
Silent and live auctions will offer a Hamilton theater package, a Galena getaway, Grand Ole Opry tickets, Chicago Bears tickets, a gourmet dinner and a skydiving package.
There also will be a dessert auction and cork, beer and spirits “pulls,” which are drawings for mystery bottles.
“The goal of this fun evening is to feature something for guys and gals alike,” event chairwoman Pat McLeod said in a news release. “We are really hoping to attract more men in the name of those special women in their lives that have suffered from cancer or heart disease.”
Organizers also suggest those who cannot attend consider sponsoring tickets for cancer or heart attack survivors. Donations also can be mailed to the foundation at 100 E. LeFevre Road, Sterling IL 61081, or made online.
Tickets cost $30; corporate tables of 8 cost $300 and include an ad in the program. They are available at cghmc.com/tickets or at 815/625-0400, ext. 5672.
