SEATTLE (AP) _ The Cleveland Indians activated third baseman Travis Fryman from the 15-day disabled list Thursday.

Fryman had been out since July 17 because of an inflammation in his right shoulder. To make room for Fryman on their 25-man roster, the Indians optioned outfielder Ben Broussard to Triple-A Buffalo.

Fryman, who is hitting .226 with eight homers and 39 RBIs in 82 games this season, was in the lineup Thursday night for the start of a four-game series in Seattle.

He had arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder Nov. 27 because of some fraying his labrum and rotator cuff.

Broussard appeared in 31 games with the Indians, hitting .234 with three homers and seven RBIs.
