Police presence high at Lewis and Clark in anticipation of Westboro members
A heavy police presence is greeting students at Lewis and Clark High School Thursday morning in anticipation that members of Westboro Baptist Church may protest outside the school.
But there was no sign of protesters as of 7 a.m.
Spokane Public Schools spokesman Brian Coddington said Westboro members received a permit from the city to protest for today at 4th Avenue and Wall Street.
At least a dozen Spokane police officers were outside the school around 7 a.m.
