Boys hockey | Century shuts out New Richmond
NEW RICHMOND, Wis. – Skylar Klingfus and Joey Malugani had three points each and Tim Pundt recorded a 12-save shutout as Rochester Century won its sixth consecutive boys hockey game, 5-0 at New Richmond on Saturday.
Century outshot the Tigers 44-12, including 28-5 over the final two periods.
The game was scoreless after one period, but Klingfus scored 2:28 into the second period, a goal that held up as the game winner. Ty Trageser and Malugani added goals late in the second.
Lyncoln Bielenberg-Howarth scored a short-handed goal 1:10 into the third period for a 4-0 lead, then Klingfus scored again at the 9:28 mark of the third to cap the scoring.
Malugani and Gunderson had two assists each, and eight Panthers players had at least one point each.
Century (6-1-0 overall) is back in action Wednesday against Redwood Valley at 7:45 p.m. in the first round of the Kiwanis Festival at Graham Arena I.
