Ex-Officer Who Demanded Sex From Woman Gets 1 to 10 Years
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) _ A former police officer who demanded sex from a woman to keep her out of jail was sentenced to one to 10 years in prison.
Roger Bradley, 40, a nine-year police veteran, was convicted last April of bribery.
The woman, who faced charges stemming from a domestic dispute, told police Bradley coerced her into having sex by threatening her with jail in 1990. Bradley, who was on duty at the time, was fired after the incident.
At Bradley’s sentencing Friday, Wood County Circuit Judge George Hill called the crime offensive.
Hill postponed the sentence for 60 days to let Bradley appeal.
The woman pleaded guilty to public intoxication and obstructing a police officer.
