Police: Driver overcorrects, drives down embankment in Durham

Emmy Victor, WRAL reporterMay 21, 2019

Durham police said a car went through a fence and down an embankment after its driver overcorrected on N.C. Highway 54 early Tuesday.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. across the street from a Waffle House.

The car flipped over when dropping onto a parking lot, but the driver was able to escape.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

Police said they suspect the driver hit the gas too hard. They do not believe the driver was impaired.
