Prep volleyball: Pirates, Warriors, Bluejays, Eagles all sweep

WATERLOO — Brooke Mosher had 15 kills, 10 assists and three blocks for Waterloo’s volleyball team in a 25-11, 25-16, 25-8 Capitol South win over New Glarus on Tuesday.

Joslyn Wolff added six kills, nine digs and served six aces for Waterloo (21-10, 8-0 Capitol South). Katie Kuhl put up 13 assists. Michaela Riege had 10 digs and served three aces. Sydney Schoenhoff added two blocks.

Waterloo hosts Cambridge on Monday.


LAKE MILLS — Lakeside Lutheran’s volleyball team swept Lodi 25-11, 25-22, 25-14 in a Capitol North match on Tuesday.

Ella Collins and Hannah Willems each had seven kills for Lakeside Lutheran (22-9, 8-0 in conference). Grace Westrate put up 15 assists while Kaylee Redmond added 11. Redmond served five aces and Westrate served three.

Payton Kuepers had 1.5 blocks while Sydney Langille, Willems and Collins each had one. Kylee Gnabasik led the Warriors in digs with 12.

Amanda Miller had 11 kills for Lodi (2-6 in conference).

“Our serving was our strongest aspect for this game, with a team total of 13 aces,” Lakeside Lutheran volleyball coach Jennifer Krauklis said.

“We had some very good moments in this match where we fought to keep the ball alive. We also did a nice job running a quick offense and hitting hard to earn our points.

“There are still moments where we need to work on consistency, but each match gives us an opportunity to continue working on that. We are looking forward to the great competition we will see this weekend at our final tournament before postseason play.”

The Warriors take part in the Brookfield East Invitational on Saturday.


JOHNSON CREEK — Kaitlyn Kuhl had eight kills and Rylie Thomas added seven for Johnson Creek’s volleyball team in a 25-12, 25-10, 25-9 Trailways South win over Madison Country Day School on Tuesday.

Kenadie LaSage put up nine assists for Johnson Creek (11-7, 4-2 in conference). Bella Herman had six digs. Maiya Benner served four aces.


JEFFERSON — Cassidy Spies had 12 kills and Mariah Hall put up 23 assists as Jefferson’s volleyball team swept Beloit Turner 25-14, 25-14, 25-19 in a Rock Valley match on Tuesday.

“Every player got court time and every player did their job well,” Jefferson volleyball coach Kaley Jacobson said.

Brooklyn Fritz added eight kills and two blocks and Parker Biwer added nine digs for the Eagles (16-7, 5-2 RVC), who play at McFarland Thursday.
