Lady Vols trounce Ole Miss 81-56 to snap three-game skid
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Meme Jackson scored 20 points as Tennessee defeated Mississippi 81-56 on Sunday to snap a three-game skid in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Tennessee (18-11, 7-9 SEC) took command by going on a 23-2 run that started late in the first quarter and carried over to the second period.
Rennia Davis scored 13 and Cheridene Green added 11 for Tennessee. Evina Westbrook had nine points and nine assists.
Crystal Allen scored 30 for Ole Miss (9-21, 3-13). Freshman Gabby Crawford had 16 points and nine rebounds for career highs in both categories.
Ole Miss has lost five straight and 10 of its last 11.
Even with the win, Tennessee posted its first losing record in SEC regular-season competition. The Lady Vols are in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
Tennessee is the only program to reach every NCAA Tournament since the event started in 1982.
